We've received final regulatory approval for the Butcherbird Expansion Project. The WA Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) has granted Works Approval, meaning construction of the 1.1Mtpa manganese concentrate facility can now proceed.
This follows Mining Proposal and Mine Closure Plan approvals from DEMIRS in January 2025, ensuring the project is fully approved under WA regulations.
The updated Feasibility Study estimates a capital cost of A$64.8M, a pre-tax NPV of A$561M, and an 18-year mine life, with average annual cashflow of A$70.5M. Manganese from Butcherbird will supply the manganese alloy and steel industries and serve as feedstock for our planned HPMSM facility in Louisiana.
With approvals in place, we are now focused on finalising funding.
