Wow! What a summer of reading! 📚 We're thrilled to share the fantastic results of this year's Corpus Christi Public Libraries’ Summer Reading Program, which ran from June 2 to July 27. • 2,392 children registered across all six of our branches. • A total of 91,322 books were read! That's an average of 38 books per child. • 872 children earned a Mayor's Challenge certificate for reading at least 30 books. Parents and guardians of children recently diagnosed with autism or developmental delays are invited to attend a Parent Training Session titled "Behavior Management." The session will be held on Saturday, July 12, at 11:30 a.m. at La Retama Central Library, 805 Comanche Street. The Center for Autism and Related Disorders will lead it in partnership with Corpus Christi Public Libraries. âś…Reservation is required. This is the second of three sessions planned as part of the series. The third session will be on Saturday, August 9, and will also require registration. Beginning Monday, June 2, Corpus Christi Public Libraries will introduce two new library card options tailored for patrons under 18. New Card Options: Juvenile Card: For children aged 0-12 Teen Card: For teenagers aged 13-17 These new cards will limit cardholders to checking out materials only from the designated Juvenile and Teen sections, while the current youth library card will remain available. All three library card options for minors will be available at all six library branches. This initiative's launch on June 2 will coincide with the start of the “Color Your World” Summer Reading Program for children and teens, which will run through Sunday, July 27. #CorpusChristi #CorpusChristiLibrary #CCLibraries

For those children participating in the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program, the Owen R. Hopkins Library, 3202 McKinzie Road, will host a celebration on Saturday, May 31, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for children to receive milestone awards for reading 250, 500, 750, and 1,000 books!
