Wall Street is doing exactly what it did in 2008. In the subprime crisis, banks packaged loans nobody wanted into CDOs & offloaded the risk onto others. Blackstone is now doing the same - bundling $2bn of private equity stakes it can't sell into bonds for insurers to buy. These are called "CFOs" and issuance has gone from $4.8bn to $25.9bn in 4 years. Different name. Same trick.

Exactly this He did not become a trillionaire through financial sorcery. No CDOs, no naked shorting of widows’ pensions. He didn't sell risky derivatives. He did not short a company into oblivion. He did not use private equity to load a productive business with debt just to flip it. He made real things - nuts and bolts and plasma and carbon fiber. Things that work better, cheaper, and faster than anyone thought possible. Yet he's getting unprecedented levels of hate.
