How to make your own fluoride-free toothpaste at home:
. 3 tbsp coconut oil - Helps moisturise the mouth and gives the toothpaste a smooth texture.
. 2 tbsp baking soda - Gently cleans teeth and helps remove surface stains.
. 20 drops peppermint essential oil - Freshens breath and adds a clean minty taste.
. 1 tsp 3% hydrogen peroxide (diluted) - Helps reduce surface stains and brightens teeth over time.
Instructions:
Mix all ingredients in a small jar until smooth. Use a small amount when brushing and store in a cool place.
Do not spit large amounts down the sink. Coconut oil can clog pipes over time. Spit into a bin or tissue instead.
Bonus Tip:
If you want whiter teeth, consider adding oil pulling to your routine. Swish coconut oil in your mouth for 10 to 15 minutes, then spit it into the bin and rinse your mouth afterwards.
