Australia has almost no contribution to advancing medicine. US has lots. Health insurance is mandatory here if you have a job anyway. Absurd. It’s literally cheaper in the US. Gun laws here suck. Conscription? We have laws allowing that already. Wages? Countless industries that pay way better in US. GPD per capita the envy of the world.

I have also served. In Finland, our conscription system is simple: every adult man serves. If you don't show up, the police will come and get you. In peacetime. In wartime, it gets tougher. Nobody asks if you want to. Nobody asks how you are. You enlist. Period. That's the price of living next to Russia. We Finns have never been able to afford the illusion that peace is a human right that comes naturally. We have learned from history.
