#ICWA held an Interaction with Dr. Joel Ng, Head, Centre for Multilateral Studies, S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, NTU, Singapore @RSIS_NTU and Member, CSCAP-Singapore on "ASEAN Centrality: Key to the Indo-Pacific" on 8 August 2025 at Sapru House. The interaction was chaired by Dr. Nivedita Ray @nivedita_ray, Director (Research), ICWA. Welcome Remarks were delivered by Dr. Sanjeev Kumar @DrSanje84792486, SRF and Coordinator, CSCAP-India, ICWA. Dr. Stuti Banerjee @banerjee_stuti, SRF, Dr. Teshu Singh @T18singh, RF, Dr. Tunchinmang Langel @t_langel, RF, and Dr. Sripathi Narayanan @_sripathi made brief remarks on the subject. This was followed by an interaction with the Research Faculty. The discussion centred around ASEAN Centrality as well as the importance of Indo-Pacific and the role/contribution of India, ASEAN, and other stakeholders.

The 38th Asia-Pacific Roundtable (#APR) themed "Recalibrating Asia’s Frontier" was organised by Institute of Strategic and International Studies (#ISIS) Malaysia @ISIS_MY, held in Kuala Lumpur, from 17-19 June 2025. ISIS is a MoU Partner of #ICWA. The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Hon. Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim @anwaribrahim and Foreign Minister of Malaysia, Hon. Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan @tokmatn9 addressed the Roundtable. Dr. Sanjeev Kumar @DrSanje84792486, SRF, ICWA was welcomed by the High Commission of India and participated in the Roundtable proceedings. H.E. Mr. B.N. Reddy @BN_Reddy_8888, High Commissioner of India to Malaysia @hcikl also participated in the proceedings. Indian delegates also met Amb. Dato’ Raja Nushirwan Zainal Abidin, DG, National Security Council (NSC) of Malaysia. The 62nd Steering Committee Meeting of the Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia Pacific (CSCAP) was held on 19-20 June 2025. It was Co-Chaired by Prof. Faiz Abdullah, ASEAN Chair and Chairman, ISIS. Discussions were held on ongoing and new Study Groups on various topics of global and regional importance as well as financial and administrative matters. Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, SRF, ICWA and Coordinator, CSCAP-India Committee, participated in the meeting. ICWA serves as Secretariat for CSCAP-India.

The 14th Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia Pacific (CSCAP) General Conference and 61st Steering Committee Meeting was held in Kuala Lumpur, #Malaysia from 2-4 December 2024. A three-member delegation led by Amb. Prashant Pise, DDG, #ICWA, with Dr. Sanjeev Kumar @DrSanje84792486, SRF, ICWA and Prof. Prabir De @Prabir_India, RIS @RIS_NewDelhi, participated in the meetings. ICWA serves as secretariat for #CSCAP-#India.

He underscored the importance of adapting strategies to address emerging security concerns during this period of heightened uncertainty. #CSCAP, an informal mechanism for dialogue and policy recommendations on political and security issues in the region, plays a vital role.....

A fruitful discussion with the delegation from China Institute of International Studies (CIIS), led by Dr. Liu Qing, Vice President of CIIS, at the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam. We discussed the GSI and cooperation within mechanisms where DAV and CIIS are both members, such as CSCAP and GCMS

A fantastic two days in Bangkok discussing arms control, disarmament and nonproliferation in the Asia-Pacific. Looking forward to sharing thoughts soon, but thanks to @PacificForum and CSCAP Vietnam for the great workshop.
