We’re excited to share a new study examining the relationship between body mass index (BMI) and mortality in patients with severe COVID-19 requiring special lung support (VVECMO). This research, a joint effort by NCATS’ N3C, NIGMS’ CTR program, and @WVCTSI, found that greater BMI levels alone shouldn’t prevent patients from receiving VVECMO.
