This week marked an important milestone for the Canadian fire service with the first-ever Blue Card Incident Command Mayday Management Workshop held in Canada. Hosted by Canmore Fire Rescue on May 4–5, the workshop brought together 42 attendees representing 15 fire agencies from across western Canada. The program featured the expertise of Murrey Loflin and focused on the critical lessons learned from firefighter line-of-duty deaths, command performance, accountability, and firefighter safety. The professionalism, engagement, and willingness to learn displayed by this group made for an ohelped impactful two days of training and discussion. Today we solemnly reflect on #DayofMourning and to recognize those workers killed or injured on the job and the devastating effect on their families. We can and must do better. We all own safety. #CanadianFireService @city_whitehorse @CdnFireChiefs @CCOHS
