The reason i started
@Cardify_Club is because i wanted an AI proof company:
You see, Cardify is actually a printing company.
It prints very high quality trading cards on the best card stock.
It prints them on a Xerox Iridesse printer… which costs ~350k new
The machine is 17 feet long.
It requires skilled accumulated expertise to print perfect cards.
It requires a monthly service contract with Xerox to operate this printer (great old company btw)
It requires physical space that must have the proper electrical wiring
Xerox keeps the printer manual under wraps. Its not found online.
The technicians who service the machine have proprietary knowledge of the machine itself… another layer beyond the craft of printing great cards.
I have a cofounder who is obsessed with the craft.
AI, nor robots, will be infiltrating this any time soon, if ever.
The margins on printing your own custom cards when you own the physical infrastructure are extremely high.
1 card can be printed for under 1 cent, and if marketed correctly, the margins can hit 10,000%
We are innovating in the production of Trading Card tech.
This is a strong structural moat in a very popular narrative/market
Your software/crypto project cannot have such a moat.
@Cardify_Club, which allows you to design and order custom cards with AI has become a parent company with 2 other store fronts that you dont even know about.
One of them is already doing 50k ARR through organic word of mouth… i havent paid for a single ad.
My cofounder and I own 100% equity and bootstrapped the whole venture using crypto gains mostly from
@virtuals_io (will forever be grateful)
We have developed things like QR code tech that mints a card to the blockchain (the future of TCGs imo)
You all think im just a degen haha, nope.
I understand business and structural moats very very well. And despite no formal SWE training, ive become a wizard at automating backend business and marketing workflows in the past 6 months.
I also have a cracked backend dev working for me who can do all the plumbing that AI cannot reliably do.
If you dont have some sort of physical infrastructure component to your project, its basically over for 99% imo.
Find someone obsessed with a craft and follow that roadmap. It doesnt have to be popular like TCGs tbh.
Dont be a degen for life. Its not reliable or consistent. You must graduate.
