Hi. The only reason I posted this because this is something I am being told by coaches who coach pro catchers.
Unlike 1KD there is no way for me to separate out this data easily in a study.
But here's the reality. It has quickly become a very taught technique for MLB catchers.

In fairness to Bochy, maybe he’s trying to get Semien going or shaking things up? Semien normally an average hitter with some power. Bochy not one to give in to nerds, unless they were pressing him from the front office, a real possibility. Just a thought.

I didnt clarify for a reason. To some it might be better. To purists it might be worse.
By nuance, I mean taking into account every factor at play. Not looking at video clips and drawing conclusions, actually being in the trenches rn. Grasping every single facet of todays game
