Rustomjee Group has partnered with the Rotary Club of Bombay Airport to support the Kawale Check Dam project in Vikramgad Taluka of Palghar district, Maharashtra. Scheduled for inauguration on June 7, 2026, the INR 70.58 lakh initiative is expected to improve water availability, enhance agricultural productivity and strengthen livelihoods for nearly 1,800 farming families across 18 villages. Designed as a long-term water conservation and groundwater recharge intervention, the project aims to address recurring water scarcity in the tribal region despite seasonal rainfall. The check dam is expected to store water across a nearly two-kilometre stretch upstream, supporting year-round access to water while encouraging community participation and sustainable resource management.
