I'm still determined to get my friend Ras a good bike kit so that he can continue impacting more lives with his kind & cheerful spirit...today we trained boys on safe cycling. So far I have received 5k from @bomanomakenya 37k to go! #LoveForRasWaNarok I know this will happen
Today is 14 days after Valentine's and I'm afraid I may fail to get a love gift for my longtime friend and rider, Ras Narok🤦🏿😪 I wish to get Ras a bike better than mine! Currently, he's using my Scott as I try to make his (pictured) safe & roadworthy x.com/malobations/status/189…

This no 2 checkdam along Kakiya Drift has only been desilted once since it was constructed in 2015 despite that activity being budgeted for in the flood mitigation plan. Narok County Gov Disaster Responce Department (whose idea I created) probably doesn't know about this

The government uses tax as capital for investment. According to our financial literacy guys, people are supposed to invest their private resources to build enterprises. In reality, public extortion is the bank that provides credit for investment. What GoK does with housing levy is what the top civil servants who became billionaires have always done since 1963: use coercive force and extortion as a credit facility. Yet the rest of us have to work, save and borrow to obtain capital for business. This is why Kenyans must revise their idea of "development" as GoK building CONCRETE toys. I would rather better social services and an investment environment, then Kenyans can generate the resources for infrastructure through their work. But politicians and the top bureaucrats won't allow that because it puts power in the hands of the people. At the end of the day, the "development" model we have is messianic. It treats Kenyans like backward natives in need of salvation from bureaucrats and politicians who have been "civilized" by their contact with the West through religion, education and trips abroad sitting in wazungu panels. That's why GoK's identity is heavily based on benchmarking and foreign trips. The economic model Kenya uses is based on the ideology of African inferiority. #MaishaKazini
Can we get a clear explanation as to why salaried Kenyans are compelled to contribute to the Housing Levy to finance the construction of houses on public land, land held in trust for all citizens only to then be required to purchase those same houses from intermediaries who profit from public contributions despite adding no discernible value? If workers provide the capital through mandatory deductions and the land is already publicly owned, what exactly justifies the additional profit margin imposed on the final buyer? What legal, economic, or policy rationale supports a system in which citizens are taxed to build housing and then required to buy that housing back at market prices?

While millions knew Carl Sagan from television, his students at Cornell University experienced his philosophy firsthand. He famously taught an undergraduate introductory seminar where the entire grade depended on challenging assumptions. The unwritten rule was simple: students could earn an “A” for completely disagreeing with Sagan on a scientific or philosophical point, provided they used strict empirical logic to support their claim. The lesson was intellectual humility. Sagan would deliberately present a convincing but flawed scientific argument, wait to see who blindly accepted it because of his authority, and then dismantle it to show how easily the human mind can be swayed by a famous title or confident delivery.

The goat gets left out of every serious conversation about sustainable food, which is a shame, because it does a job no other farm animal will touch. A cow is a grazer. A sheep is a grazer. Both want grass, on ground that is at least walkable. The goat is a browser, and its tastes run somewhere else entirely: - It eats scrub, bramble, gorse and thistle, the spiky stuff everything else avoids. - It strips the woody growth and lower branches that choke a neglected hillside. - It works terrain too steep, too rough, and too overgrown for cattle or sheep to bother with. - It thrives on exactly the marginal, reverting, abandoned land that grows nothing anyone wants. This makes the goat the pioneer of the whole system. Put goats onto a bramble-choked hillside and they browse it back, season by season, until grass can establish again. Once the grass comes, the sheep and cattle can follow. The goat opens ground the others could never use. And at the end of it you get milk that many people who cannot tolerate cow dairy digest perfectly well, meat that more of the world's population eats than any other, and a cleared hillside that was an impenetrable thicket the year before. The goat asks for the worst land on the farm and quietly makes it useful. It has been doing humanity's roughest groundwork for ten thousand years, and we still treat it as an afterthought with a comedy reputation.

The plane carrying the #Uruguay national team is unable to enter the United States for the #2026WorldCup due to missing permits. Uruguay's trip to Miami, where they are set to play Saudi Arabia in their opening match tomorrow, has been delayed. This World Cup is an absolute disgrace. You are responsible for this, @FIFAWorldCup.

Makes big sense. Now the shenanigans up north (not up-up north) will overshadow any positives the Mexicans will have created for the tournament #PeopleCentricConflictEarlyWarningEarlyResponse FIFA world cup edition
The World Cup should be: In 1 country With 32 teams And 64 games And each game should have two halves (not four quarters)

You actually reduce crime by eliminating poverty. You reduce crime with universal healthcare, public housing, livable wages, and free college. You reduce violence by creating happy, healthy communities that aren’t constantly fighting over basic needs and material resources.

Those who assume Netanyahu’s shameless behavior, and his attempt to prolong his regional wars at US expense, will undermine even derail Israel US relations, need to consider the historical record and the bilateral strategic and political perspectives. The fall out between Begin and Reagan in 1981, between Shamir and Bush sr in 1991, between Sharon and W Bush in 2001, between Netanyahu and Obama in 2011, between Netanyahu and Biden in 2021, etc led in each and every instance to upgrading Israel’s status to ‘strategic asset’, leader of the Middle East Pax Americana, champion of the global war on terror, recipient of additional $40 billion, as well as dragging US into genocide in Gaza and war on Iran, respectively… GOT IT! So, before mourning Israel US relations pay attention to section 224 of the Congress Defense Authorization Bill and amendment 622 of the Senate Intelligence Authorization Bill, both of which couple American global intelligence network to Israel’s and basically merges Israel and US defense industries and programs. GOT IT! That’s not to say the ‘special relationship’ is eternal. But Israel and its American minions are aware of Israel’s decreasing popularity in America and are already working hard to make up the difference through America’s corrupt political, business, media and other elites.

President William Ruto’s ambition to run a government that “lives within its means” appears to have backfired, as he is set to close his first term in office with about Sh2.3 trillion loans that have no projects linked to them. zurl.co/EOKZy

Let your children see you have fun. Sprinkle it in whenever you can; Sing while you're stuck in traffic, dance when you're cleaning the kitchen and laugh at your own mistakes. Fun doesn't have to be reserved for weekends & vacation. Show your children how to enjoy life even in the mundane routines; they'll watch, learn and do the same.

Clearing of Imenti Forest has begun to pave the way for the construction of a State Lodge. Impunity is an understatement. In a country where hospitals lack medicine, a State Lodge is a priority. Maajabu. We also know the drill and what this is meant to achieve. Land grabbing.
