■ Cherry blossoms are now blooming all across Japan. In one of the famous cherry blossom spots in Chuo City, Tokyo, as of March 30, the Somei Yoshino were about 80% in bloom. They will likely reach full bloom in another 2–3 days.
■ However, cherry blossoms are also visually striking when they begin to fall after reaching full bloom. The emotional impact becomes even greater, leaving a deeper impression. Therefore, there is meaning in watching them through to the very end.

■【Japan Now-75】
I was surprised to accidentally spot a red bus running through Tokyo calling itself “Edo Bus.” See the photo. It has “EDOBUS” written on it.
■ When we hear “Edo,” we think of the central seat of the Edo shogunate founded by Tokugawa Ieyasu. It made me wonder what kind of bus would take the name of such an important period in Japanese history. The Edo period lasted from 1603 to 1868.
■ As it turns out, Edo Bus is a community bus operated by Chuo City, Tokyo, since 2009. Chuo City played a central role in Edo, spreading east of Edo Castle at the time.
■ Edo Bus is a small red bus with two routes—the “North Loop” and the “South Loop”—covering city offices, hospitals, stations, and tourist spots.
■ The fare is amazingly cheap! A flat fare of 100 yen for both adults and children, with transportation IC cards accepted.
■ It is popular with local residents and tourists alike, and environmentally friendly EV buses have also been introduced.
■ Routes: The service starts at the Chuo City Office and consists of the North Loop (toward Bakurocho) and the South Loop (toward Ginza, Tsukishima, and Harumi). If you have the chance, please give it a try.
■ Seniors (65 years and older) ride for free.

■ Investigating the Cable Arrangement of Chuo-Ohashi Bridge in Tokyo
■ Taking a step closer to something that sparks curiosity helps deepen understanding. This time, I put that into practice.
■ Chuo-Ohashi Bridge is a beautiful landmark in Chuo City. In my previous post ( x.com/kurita88/status/189925… ), I introduced its key features: a 25m-wide, 211m-long bridge suspended by a single pair of white pylons.
■ But how exactly are the cables arranged?
■ To find the answer, I took a closer look and captured the attached footage. The separate structures below the pylons are for nighttime illumination.
■ The paired white pylons in the center hold 16 cables on the near side (east) and 16 on the far side (west), totaling 32 cables supporting the bridge. Exploring and investigating reveals answers to intriguing mysteries.
