I think he was such an intelligent, deeply thinking man that he essentially became his own counselor/therapist/minister. I love the work he did and what the fruits of that work yielded: Charlotte Colbourne! (Plus a plethora or babies, I’m certain.).

We already see that Charlotte has been keeping secrets from Ralph. He doesn’t know about Sidney. “You do realize you’re marrying a woman of great learning, Mr. Starling?” “How could I forget?”

I really enjoyed it. John Duttine, Emma Relph and Maurice Colbourne were really good casting. Personally I think it was better than the film version (1963) and the later 2009 BBC TV version.
