Answer:Colugo (flying lemurs)
Many people see a colugo and immediately think it's a giant bat,but that's actually wrong.
The colugo, often called the "flying lemur," is neither a bat nor a lemur. It is a unique mammal found in Southeast Asia and is one of the best gliders in the animal kingdom. Using a large skin membrane that stretches from its neck to its fingers, toes and tail, a colugo can glide over 100 meters between trees without flapping its wings.
Unlike bats, colugos cannot truly fly because they don't have wings. They are also mostly nocturnal, spending their nights feeding on leaves, flowers, and fruits high in the forest canopy.
One of the most fascinating facts about the colugo is that mothers carry their babies while gliding through the trees, using their membrane almost like a living parachute and cradle.
Despite looking strange and almost bat like, colugos are actually more closely related to primates than to bats.
If you saw this animal hanging from a tree at night, would you immediately think it was a bat or would you recognize it as something entirely different?
