Didcot & Wallingford Neighbourhood Team have been responding to reports of egg-throwing in Great Western Park, Didcot and patrolling the area for the past few weeks. Yesterday, with the assistance of local schools, the team were able to ID the youths and issue the main perpetrator with a Community Resolution for criminal damage. An additional condition added to the ComRes, upon request of one of their victims, was to write an apology letter which was then delivered to them by police. 🥚
The team have also recovered a stolen push bike and been at Willowbrook estate dealing with kids riding around dangerously on an electric dirtbike that was going speeds reported to be up to 40mph in the housing estate, though modified to go up to 50! Units quickly responded to the calls and were able to stop the kids after they had made off from police and speak to both them and their parents. The bright orange bike was seized. 🚲
4 closure orders in Didcot have also been approved at court today for addresses containing individuals involved with drugs and shoplifting. A closure order is a tool used to temporarily close premises to stop serious antisocial behaviour, crime, or nuisance. It restricts access to anyone that is not the resident, police, medical professionals or named individuals on the paperwork e.g. a family member approved by police, to protect the community from disorder. ⛔
Tomorrow, on the 10th March, local PCSOs Saunders and Carter will be at Edmonds Park Pavilion at 6 PM for a Have our Say. Do come by with your questions or concerns or even just to say hello. 👋
