Earlier yesterday, I joined the Catholic Church congregation at St Charles Lwanga Kasasa Secondary school in commemorating 100 years of ‘The Brothers of Christian Instruction in Uganda’ commonly known as the ‘La Mennais Brothers’.
The mass was led by Rev. Fr. CHARLES JJUUKO who was the main celebrant. In his message, he advised the church to spread the gospel through action rather than just words.
In my submission, I urged the brothers and the congregation not to keep quiet about the ongoing abuse of human rights in Uganda and the rampant abductions that have characterized this regime. I reminded them of the collective responsibility that we have as Ugandans to correct the mess that the country is in today in order to save the young children to whom we shall bequeath this Nation.
I also dragged their attention to the alarming financial predicament that Uganda is in today with a National debt of over 16 Trillion yet the country is still borrowing in the guise of running developmental projects only to be lost in corruption and when the president appoints ministers, he still appoints the most corrupt which puts the Nation at stake!
