About a year ago I graduated with a First Class Degree in Business Administration from the University of Lagos
About 2days ago, I just passed my First Entry level certification in Cybersecurity CompTIA Security
In my third year, I was having a discussion with one of my friends, and I mentioned the fact that we now have less armed robbery cases, looks like our money and property are now safer, then he answered that,The money hasn't become safer, the criminals just moved online.
The new robbery doesn’t require Police men or Security guards to stop, it involves lines of codes, social engineering, Hacking, card Skimming, Business email compromise, phishing emails, which results in the loss of billions of dollars yearly.
The numbers back this up brutally:
• In 2025 alone, Nigeria lost over $500 million to cyberattacks.
• Between 2019 and 2025, that cumulative loss ballooned to over $3 billion.
I realized that protecting business value now requires protecting digital assets. This realization sparked my pivot.
I have just earned my first entry level certification in Cybersecurity, I am open to all job/internship opportunities in this field whether physical, remote or Hybrid. I am also available for immediate resumption.
I am a very fast learner, and a team player, I understand how to read syslogs, set up a Wazuh (Siem) dashboard, organize a Phishing awareness training amongst many others. I am sure I will be a valuable addition to any organization.
I will be glad to get any help in this regard, subsequently I will be making series of posts on how individuals and Businesses can protect themselves from Cyber attacks.
