I think she's talking about some default settings that was changed, like mat_phong. You'd need to know what to change or have an autoexec compilation like configula to restore it. Better argument either way is the sheer amount of style-breaking cosmetics in the game now.

To be fair though, configula works with any YAML, not just kubernetes...

To be clear, configula is a a general framework for configuration generation, it's not tied to Kubernetes at all. (thought it can work with Kubernetes)

answers: 1) naming is hard :) 2) jsonnet is too complicated and hard to adopt imho. also, I don't think DSLs are the right approach to programmatic configuration. 3) yaml is the defacto standard, but actually I think configula could be extensible to other data languages.
