As a part of the program preceding the “#WhyRemember? Tracing the Past” Conference – held on the occasion of the 2023 commemoration of the #Srebrenica genocide – the WCM’s Educational Activities Coordinator, Merima Ražanica, presented several key WCM projects and educational methodologies. These methodologies form the basis of the #WarChildhoodMuseum’s educational activities and are firmly rooted in child protection policies that ensure children's well-being while they are engaging with the objects & personal stories in our collection. In addition to introducing specific educational programs and projects relevant to teachers and educators dealing with the topics of #ContestedHistories, #HumanRights, #GenocidePrevention & #Peacebuilding, the WCM’s team members had ample opportunities to connect with experts in these fields & exchange best practices. We are delighted at the opportunity to contribute to the “Contested Histories: Teaching about Peace, Human Rights, and Genocide Prevention in the Classroom and the Museum” program – warm thank you to @paullowe & Conference organizers, London College of Communication @UAL & Arts and Humanities Research Council @UKRI for the invitation. 🎈
