If you are mentoring a convert of the opposite gender, remove the potential in your mind for them to be a potential spouse. This will remove the risk of spiritual abuse by weaponizing Quran/Sunnah to mislead them into secret, illegal marriages. Dr. @tamaralgray #ConvertCare

If you have a convert friend who has a dog, advise them to study the Maliki madhab, even though the Maliki madhab doesn't encourage dogs to be in the house. This is bc for Malikis dogs are not considered nijasa. Also advise a separate prayer space. #ConvertCare Dr. @tamaralgray
