When we started
@CoreDataEngr ,
We committed to one foundational principle: No shortcuts. We didnโt want to build a bootcamp that just teaches data theory, our mission is to train market-ready engineers who can step onto a data team on day one and immediately deliver value.
To make that happen, we refused to rely on basic local infrastructure. Since our very first launch, we have proudly absorbed 100% of the costs to give our students access to completely free cloud environments to experiment with what we deliver in our live classes.
Our entire infrastructure runs natively on
@awscloud . Providing hundreds of students with the actual compute power, distributed clusters used by real-world companies, this has been an incredible milestone for us, but it is simply not cheap either.
As our communications team recently announced, CoreDataEngineers is transitioning from a free model to a paid model.
Passion can spark an educational movement, but it cannot fund enterprise cloud bills indefinitely. To keep providing this level of high standard, real-world training as our cohorts scale, covering these heavy operational infrastructure costs is a necessity unfortunately.
Beyond the Infrastructure and operational costs, this shift is about human sustainability. Our incredible volunteers and mentors give up their nights and weekends to review projects, architect systems, and support our students. They deserve real recognition, backing, and compensation for the immense value they bring to the table, and they also deserve the resources and support needed to sustain their incredible work.
Moving to a paid model ensures that CDE isn't just a temporary project, but a sustainable ecosystem that will be here training top-tier Data Engineers for years to come.
To our past students, our current community, and everyone joining us in this next chapter, thank you for your trust, your support, and for building the future of data engineering with us. Letโs keep building.
