Gulistan, Khar Gulistan, Persian for "land of flowers", is an apt name for this beautiful bungalow with a compound full of trees, and colours that conjure the beginning of spring. This vibrant, yellow structure stands out amidst the concrete jungle of high rises all around it. Probably an example of a later version of Art Deco, Gulistan bears the quintessential continuous eyebrow and bands. In a play of contrast and harmony, the design of its two distinct windows, the porthole and the linear corner window, are juxtaposed perfectly in form and material.
