Shanghai-based CorrectSequence Therapeutics (#Correctseq) announced a groundbreaking achievement in their collaboration with the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University.
Using the independently-developed base editing drug "CS-101," a severe case of β-thalassemia in a young patient was cured. This marks the world's first successful case of treating hemoglobinopathy through base editing therapy.
