For me, this has always been the card with the strongest Critics' Week winner energy. A debut feature, a fresh voice, a coming-of-age story with atmosphere, sensitivity, and danger beneath the surface. The jury awarded more than just a film. They rewarded the feeling - the first big cinematic statement from a director who clearly has something to say. That's why I love these Upshot cards.
