Got to the party 10 years late but still feel like I'm early.
Started building with stablecoins back in March, and grateful for
@sortedwallet for taking a chance on someone who didn't come from a web3 background.
I first heard about stables from
@edrick_dch, and the value prop for Africa and emerging markets was so obvious
I've been keen to build in fintech for a while, and excited to be here now.
Ethereum and its ecosystem not only brings access to seamless money movement across EM but provides a platform distribution network for builders in Africa to build for the global financial system from day 1.
Hearing about
@yosephayele structured approach to learning about the space on
@cryptoatscale, made me believe that I can learn to a high level too.
Been reading, writing building as I ramp up my skills, but pushing myself to go deeper with ethereum/web3 over the coming months in my free time, will try to document my journey on here. The plan:
1. Building onchain at Sorted
2. Taking advanced foundry course on updraft...took blockchain money from MIT, and entry level solidity course already
3. Reading about most impactful EIPs and ERCs from the last decade
4. Reading whitepapers
5. Have curated a list of podcasts and people in the space to keep up with latest trends
6. Sharing my thoughts r
7. Build tools to support my learning
8. Read Token economy, the ascent of money reading The infinite machine next
Happy birthday Ethereum! so much more to come 🎉
Happy birthday Ethereum 🎂
What a journey from idea to a large scale network & ecosystem poised to power major parts of our economies - the old and the unexplored
Coordinating humans and resources across the world, without relying on intermediaries, is a powerful idea.
Thank you to the Ethereum ecosystem for giving the world many data points of how that could be possible, and the base layer infrastructures to build & scale it across the world.
The parts of the Ethereum community I have gotten to know taught me the powers of intellectual honesty... deep inquiry in seeking truth... the joys of experimenting... design principles that maximize long-term resilience... good people and good vibes 😎
There is still so much to build. Blockchains are still barely scraping the surface in addressing the fundamental coordination issues in the parts of the world where trust is scarce.
I'm pumped to be in the trenches with many committed humans in building open and permissionless systems for Africa and the rest of the world 🌋
