Definitely, one of the differences I’ve noticed is Elections BC chose their own vendors and setup. I believe they structured this under either datafix or viewpoint for registry & voter lists and it’s not entirely clear if they utilized the tally and result system from dominion. I bring this up because it does differ from the states, to what degree isn’t quite clear. The fact elections bc does use paper ballots is a good thing but issues arrive when results potentially are created during advance voting. No clear indication if the units have the wifi functions eliminated or disabled and the fact 98% of ballots aren’t observable by scrutineers. The rabbit hole takes you to registration and figuring out if something occurred, which specific ridings did if anything happen in ? Problem being recount thresholds and inability for the public to inspect sealed ballots. Long rant.

Interesting videos. Might have to file another FOI in relation to this, to better understand tabulation software. I believe we used datafix or voterview by third party vendors

How about providing us with an ETA of when your datafix will go in to reverse all the duplicate transactions. The payments never reflected successfully on the merchants side and yet FNB double debited the clients and now aren’t reversing those txns. Pathetic service.

"Why do we have an option in the system that if it's turned on it will break your administration and require support to do a datafix to undo everything?" "Well, one client asked for it..."

How much did Election technology vendors receive when spending 60$ Million more in the 2024 BC election compared to previous elections (excluding the COVID-affected 2020 election). The vendors involved included: Elections Ontario, Compucom, DataFix, ComputerTalk, Compugen, Microserve, Forte, Techiosoft, and Fortra. Several of these companies were facing ongoing lawsuits related to data breaches during the 2024 BC election period.

*** Good Morning BC, Checking under the Rocks *** Elections BC Partnered with these companies to help run the 2024 BC Election. Two things popped up, Compucom has a partnership with a Chinese company Topnew Info specializing in,”Information Technology provides information and technology services.” “Global Client Support: If a multinational client has operations in both Asia (served by Topnew) and North America (served by Compucom or other GWA partners), the alliance enables coordinated service delivery across all regions.” The other is forte & fortra: “Fortra has been involved in legal lawsuits due to a data breach in January 2023, where a vulnerability in its GoAnywhere managed file transfer solution was exploited by the Russia-linked Clop ransomware group, affecting over 5 million individuals. This led to multiple class action lawsuits.” Below is the full list of companies Elections BC Partnered with. - Elections Ontario for leasing EVB laptops as well as the tabulators - Compucom and DataFix for delivering an IT contact centre - ComputerTalk for contact centre solutions for EBC’s in-house contact centre -Compugen for providing laptops for use as electronic voting books - Microserve for setting up laptops for use as electronic voting books - Forte for developing and supporting the Where to Vote application - Techiosoft for developing and supporting the Voter Communication Tool which allowed Elections BC to send high volume texts and emails to voters - Fortra for supporting the Globalscape solution that provides secure access to voter participation files for political parties and candidates Take a deep dive yourself and let me know what else you find in their history, most seem to be Canadian companies aside from the ones highlighted. We Keep Going

We did manage to execute one successful FOIP for DataFix but we had to file it through a municipality since provincial bodies are protected by their FOIP acts. drive.google.com/file/d/1GS6…

Reporting back: IT consultation Elections BC "I’m waiting on a FOIP request to acquire the RFP’s, invoices, contracts and manuals for Dominion Voting. As I understand it each tabulator produces a tabulation tape with the results the results are stored on a USB so there’s two comparable sources. The USB would be loaded into the EMS VoterView. If there was any manipulation it would have been done in the voterView EMS. It’s there that ALL the ballots are sorted conglomerated and finally reported. It’s the EMS that reports to the media. We’re also working on two FOIPs for the DataFix software and we’re expecting those in the coming weeks. Funny thing is in Alberta, our CEO denied any and all requests for this information. The following was from Elections Yukon when I asked them what their process would have been on a request for the Datafix information. That’s where you’ll find your answers to most if not all your questions, when I get the FOIP for DataFix I’ll send you a copy. If you like. Mon 8:48 PM Oh, ok so all the Physical USB drives are handed to the CEO then they plug it in, or it then goes up another level? Your FOI's are for Alberta Correct, not for BC. Mon 8:55 PM Depends, here in Alberta we uploaded the usb’s at the polling station and transmitted from there. I would guess BC did the same based on the issues at the various polling stations. @TheRemanded @DreaHumphrey #BCElection2024

From the 2024 Voting Equipment Officers handbook, we see confirmation that the Election Management System (EMS) was VoterView, a product by a company called DataFix or Comprint Systems. It’s this EMS that conglomerates ALL the ballots whether they’re tabulated, special, write-in or out of district. Those EMS is also the ‘middleware’ between the media and Elections BC. elections.bc.ca/2024election…

I work at a place where no one knows transaction isolation levels. They set everything to read uncommitted because is faster.... It's infuriating to say the least. When we experience duplicated rows, we do a "datafix" which means deleting duplicate rows. PD: I hate my job.

marilah menjadi engineer yg mung waton iso koding. jadilah pemalas, krn orang malas pasti cari cara biar kerjanya gampang, jo ngasi kerja muk datafix ro lembur
Di Sayurbox salah satu hal yang kumulai adalah bikin Engineering Efficiency team: team yang bertugas untuk bikin dan riset tools yang membuat engineering team bisa kerja lebih kentjang dan hepi Tagline kita adalah: "how to allow interns to deploy at 7pm Friday, and nobody bats an eye" Salah satu achievement kita adalah melakukan 2-step changes supaya team engineering bisa ngebut dan deliver product to production faster Step change pertama adalah decoupling deployment dan release. Hal ini dilakukan dengan memperkenalkan feature flag Hasilnya membuat deployment kita dari sebulan sekali per team (satu team isinya 3-5 engineer) menjadi seminggu sekali per engineer. An 1200% improvement Step change kedua adalah memperkenalkan Over-The-Air updates menggunakan CodePush, karena kita pakai React Native dan mengubah abstraksi kode supaya lebih kentjang (performance dan shipping wise) Haters might say “deployment kenceng2 ga ada gunanya bosku.” Awalnya mau tak bales “tak suwek lambemu. Skill issue rasah kakehan cangkem” But this time, I’ll bring data ⚡ 300 deployment per bulan artinya tiap engineer kira2 melakukan 3 deployment per minggu ✨ Gara2 deployment kita naik 3x, kita bisa release dan experiment features 2x lebih banyak 🛒 Implikasinya ke product bisa naikin conversion rate orang yang membeli sebanyak 53% 💵 Implikasi ke bisnis berhasil naikin revenue by 20% Key takeaways: 1. Pikirkan Developer Experience sejak team ukuran 5 ke atas. Makin besar teamnya makin berguna 2. DevEx matters. Engineer kita makin kencang ada impactnya ke bisnis dan duitz 💸 3. Test in Prod
