Part 4/4: Building the Power Entry Angle Rush Plan
We've talked about the fundamentals of the Power Entry Angle all week.
Pass Rush Plan
Part 1 - Power Edge
Part 2 - Power Pop
Part 3 - 2 Step Counter
Now let's put it all together.
At
#DLineU, pass rush isn't about collecting moves.
It's about building a plan.
The purpose of the Power Entry Angle is to:
✅ Force the OL to defend power
✅ Collapse the pocket
✅ Squeeze the B Gap
✅ Force the QB to step up
✅ Create reactions
Once you create reactions, you can attack them.
Today's Power Entry Angle Rush Plan:
1️⃣ Power Forklift
2️⃣ 2-Step Counter
3️⃣ Power Jab
1. Power Forklift
This is our primary move.
Attack man as its Power Edge.
Close space.
As you make contact OL should sit and anchor.
Inside hand should pressure inside pit and outside hand should be lifting OL outside arm.
2. 2-Step Counter
Once you beat the offensive lineman on the edge, you will force him to overset.
Take two hard vertical steps. Make him think Power.
Plant off outside foot and work back vertical inside.
The best counters happen when the offensive lineman believes he's getting power edge.
3. Power Jab
Once you beat him on the edge.
Then you beat him inside.
That's when we hit the change-up.
Sell your steps as you are going back inside.
Get him to sit on it.
Jab inside.
Attack back outside.
Win the edge of the blocker.
The best change-ups work because the offensive lineman is anticipating contact.
The Big Lesson
Great pass rushers understand reactions.
Power creates reactions.
Reactions create opportunities.
Opportunities create sacks.
Your rush plan should always have:
✅ A primary move
✅ A counter move
✅ A change-up move
Don't rush blind.
Rush with a plan.
Alignment creates angles.
Angles create rush plans.
Rush plans create sacks.
The Standard isn't to compete. It's to dominate.
