Current Situation (11:00 AM, Nov 30, 2025):
#DitwahCyclone is now positioned about 80 km east-northeast of Karaikal. For the past few hours, it has remained around 11.1°N latitude. It’s expected to drift northward in the coming hours while gradually losing strength. Now itself it's like a Depression ..Therefore, no major wind impact is expected in any region.
Over the past 24 hours, Karaikal recorded an impressive 194 mm of rainfall, and in the past 48 hours, a total of 291 mm. Due to the circulation pulling winds from inland zones towards the coast, light drizzles continue to occur. Nagapattinam has recorded 283 mm in the last 48 hours, while Kodiakkarai and Vedaranyam regions have registered around 370 mm during the same period.
The attached satellite image clearly shows how cloud bands are spreading across the interior because of this cyclonic pull. Ongoing light to moderate rain can be observed across many areas due to this system.
In Puducherry district, Bahour has reported 115 mm of rainfall, and Puducherry city itself has received about 75 mm in the last 24 hours. Showers are expected to continue here for the next 24 hours as well.Currently, the circulation is still positioned south of Puducherry, Chennai, and it's suburban regions. As it gradually moves northward, coastal Tamil Nadu may continue to experience moderate rains. Within the next few hours, official updates are expected to confirm the weakening of Cyclone Ditwah into a deep Depression or Depression system over the sea.
While radar images yesterday didn’t show large cloud clusters, don’t overlook the heavy rainfall that occurred in the Delta districts. Though similar magnitude rainfall isn’t expected further north, coastal regions might still see 50–100 mm of rain in the next 24 hours..
Stay tuned for more updates — with you always,
