In US History this week, students moved beyond notes and reading into meaningful discourse. After studying Washington’s decision to bring his army to Valley Forge, they applied the Ethics Depth & Complexity icon to independently form their stance on whether the decision was ethically justified despite the risks. With their evidence and reasoning prepared, we launched into “stand up, hand up, pair up.” For five minutes, students partnered around the room to share their opinions, justify their arguments, and push each other’s thinking. The challenge: reach a compromise or consensus to record and share with the class. The result was a room buzzing with debate, collaboration, and critical thinking—history coming alive as students weighed tough choices, defended positions with evidence, and practiced civic skills that matter far beyond the classroom. @TAGinPG @DrReyC @AP_Pegues #DepthAndComplexity #Region4SayNoMore

This week we closed out Unit 1 in US History with a Readers Theater skit on the First Great Awakening 🎭🔥 Across 10 scenes, students brought the old church and the new revivals to life—showing how this movement not only unified the colonists but also planted the seeds for revolution by inspiring them to question authority and believe in liberty. 🇺🇸 In each class, 12 students stepped into character and acted out sermons, debates, and transformations that captured the energy of the era.
