Many clients compare logo to a simple drawing. However, a professional logo involves research, concept development, revisions and strategic thinking. You are not only paying for the final design but also for the expertise behind it.

Does Ferrari's new laptop 'transcend PC design', or is it just red? 🗣️ Looks flashy but mostly proves luxury branding still outsources substance; will buyers pay for speed or just the badge, #DesignValue#Ferraris 🔽 creativebloq.com/design/prod…
It's not the tools.
It's not the aesthetics.
It's not even the time spent.
It's the thinking.

Enjoyed keynoting the A4LE Conference Yesterday! We focused on Finding. Financial. Functional. Capacity. And the need for school designers, administration, and local leaders to collaborate. The goal is to build something sustainable that everyone needs and likes!!! #DesignValue
The hardest part of selling design work?
Explaining why good design takes time.
"It's just a website" they say.
No. It's user psychology, brand strategy, and technical execution all working together seamlessly.

You don’t need to be the best designer or UXer in the room — you need to be the most USEFUL.
Over the last two-plus decades of my life, I’ve helped my clients hire dozens of UXers and Designers. Which means I've looked at thousands of resumes, LinkedIn profiles and portfolios at this point. You know who I remember?
The ones who made messy requirements clear.
The ones who made decisions easier.
The ones who helped the team move faster.
The ones who made sure every decision and action they took delivered a RESULT that mattered to someone else.
NOT the ones with the coolest, eye-candy filled portfolio.
NOT the ones who knew every UX law and principle ever written.
NOT the ones who wrote novel-length case studies and tried to impress with volume.
My point: you want to grow your career? Have longevity? Be seen as more than what my professors used to call "a glorified pair of hands?"
Solve REAL PROBLEMS for real people. In your company. On your team. For your customers.
And accept that most of thos problems are going to fall FAR short of the sexy Figma eye candy bullshit people post here every day.
Your value isn’t in your tools, folks — it’s in your thinking.
So *fuck* Figma.
Show ‘em what you’ve got up there between your ears.

If you're struggling to explain your work to non-designers — and it's frustrating the shit outta you — here's something I'd like you to consider:
If “they” don’t get it, it isn't because they’re dumb.
It’s because you're not speaking their language.
Do you know just how many times every single week UXers and Designers I coach or work with as clients say to me, “they just don’t understand good design/UX?”
Here’s the truth, folks:
They’re not paid to understand it.
YOU ARE.
So translate.
No one gives a shit if “this makes the experience more intuitive.” But you can bet your ass it matters if “this prevents support tickets and speeds up onboarding.”
You’re not dumbing it down — you’re making it relevant.
Remember that part of your job is to translate design value into business value. Why? Because if they don’t understand it, they won’t support it either.

Figma just IPO’d at a $10 billion valuation.
And it’s not because they slapped a new logo on a Sketch clone (IYKYK). Nah, Figma obsess over usable shit at scale. 1/10 #FigmaIPO#DesignValue

Do you know what happens?
You get the logo you deserve from the competition, and when you need it to be applicable across different mediums, you have to scramble to find proper designers to tweak and edit it for proper usage. #respectdesign#logorespect#designvalue#branding101
