Last week, the SKALE dev team spent some time together outside the office, but during working hours, weโ€™ve still been hard at work! Special thanks to @AvilaSpaces and @GinLovers_ for organizing and hosting the event! Hereโ€™s what weโ€™ve accomplished over the last two weeks: @SkaleNetwork @SkaleDevelopers @FAIR_Blockchain Stan @Stan_Kladko completed spec for an encrypted x402 token D3 @rikon_azane together with Sasha2, developed a strategy for our internal infrastructure usage and backups, and also supervised the rollout and launch of SKALE Chains on Base. Polina @PKiporenko worked on specifications for new SKALE initiatives and actively drove the execution of the SKALE GitHub Improvement Strategy. D1 @dmtkatwork delevoped a flexible system to manage multiple networks in SKALE Portal, added new interface for Chain Credits, upgraded SKALE Proxy to include metadata about chains and worked on the big merge betwen FAIR and develop branches in node repos. Alex @Alex_Sheverdin refactored and enhanced the cleanup commands for both SKALE and FAIR nodes in the CLI, and implemented improvements and new features in the Ansible automation for SKALE node deployment. Inรชs @ines_skale_ worked on Portal 4.3, focusing on the migration to Tailwind CSS. All classes have already been migrated, and she is now fixing some UI issues that appeared after the migration. D2 @DmytroStebaiev developed credit station smart contracts and deployed them to the production chains. Vadim @yavrsky investigated the security considerations and functionality of EIP-7702, worked on new releases of IMA and the allocator, and also made several minor improvements to the explorer. Eduardo @eduardo34203919 worked on technical improvements in SKALE-Contracts and FAIR-Manager repositories. Oleh @olehskl developed new precompiled contract to be used by developers for BITE2 transactions. Ivan @Ivan3423145 added fix for FAIR historic node catchup. Sidnei @sidneitex explored how to extend BITE Phase 2 across rotating committees and started implementing BITE Phase 2 logic at the consensus layer. Sasha 1 @SemiDennisJJ completed 0.2.7 fair release testing, that includes API changes and bug fixes. Also, organized the test artifacts migration to another TMS. Sasha 2, set up the mainnet base network and its infrastructure. He also started working on internal network setup procedure improvements. Karina @karina_yavorska finished migrating the tests and completed the workflow setup for running staking tests in GitHub Actions. Nata @NatashaSheverd1 contributed to technical documentation, improved DevSuccess workflows, and continued supporting SKALE testnet projects to help maintain smooth integration.

D3 @rikon_azane compiled technical strategy docs outlining next steps for SKALE. Together with D2, reviewed fair-manager quality improvements and explored potential enhancements for upcoming releases. Polina @PKiporenko worked on roadmap planning for the upcoming quarters and on preparing the release documentation. D1 @dmtkatwork fixed bugs with alive transactions, scheduler for skaled restart and other minor bugs; worked on optimizations across all python-based repos to reduce image sizes, upgraded to the latest Python and Debian versions - image sizes were reduced by 70-80%. Alex @Alex_Sheverdin implemented major improvements to the Ansible automation for FAIR node deployments, adding support for the Anvil local Ethereum node, which significantly reduced the setup time for FAIR devnet chains. He also customized the SKALE nodes, schains, and IMA monitoring tools for the QA legacy network. Inรชs, @ines_skale_ successfully handed over Portal 4.2 to the QA team and implemented a few improvements to the Portal. She would like to thank D1, Karina, Sasha1, and Vadim for their teamwork and support throughout the project. Portal 4.2 is now live on Mainnet! Meanwhile, Inรชs has already started working on Portal 4.3. D2 @DmytroStebaiev added multiple small improvements to fair-manager to improve the code quality and he continued working on them. Vadim @yavrsky analyzed and optimized Nebula explorerโ€™s database performance. Eduardo @eduardo34203919 resolved issues regarding the second audit of Fair Manager smart-contracts, and improved testing pipeline with fuzz tests. Oleh @olehskl prepared documentation regarding implementation details for BITE Phase2 and fixed several problems related to stability that were found on FAIR Public Testnet. Ivan @Ivan3423145 fixed partial receipts issue that cause state root mismatch error. He also supported validator teams with ongoing Testnet V2. Sidnei @sidneitex worked on performance improvements in both libBLS and consensus improving throughput by ~1.5x and reducing block production time by ~2x. Sasha 1 @SemiDennisJJ over past 2 weeks, worked on migration QAnet to Hoodi, and worked on improvements for CI tests. Sasha 2, worked on supporting Fair testnet v2 and QA networks. Karina @karina_yavorska successfully completed Portal 4.2 testing, verifying that all new features work as expected. Nata @NatashaSheverd1 concentrated on gathering project data, streamlined DevSuccess operations with an initiative tracker, and maintained support for SKALE Testnet and Mainnet projects.

Also updated RNG functionality for FAIR. Polina @PKiporenko worked on a section of the improvement proposal for the SKALE economic model, brainstorming strategies for a specific segment. She also contributed to the SKALE GitHub strategy, focusing on updates and general cleanup to improve overall organization. D1 @dmtkatwork fixed multiple bugs in the CLI, admin and transaction-manager, upgraded node packages and components to use the latest dependencies, updated FAIR & SKALE revese proxy. Alex @Alex_Sheverdin adapted the FAIR network monitoring server for use on multiple networks and developed enhanced state root monitoring for FAIR testnet. He also added several new features to FAIR node provisioning. Inรชs @ines_skale_ together with Karina and Vadim, worked on setting up the new Legacy network on Portal. She also finished developing Portal 4.2, including adding a new UI to the existing exit gas wallet page. Meanwhile, she added new projects to the Ecosystem page on Portal as well. D2 @DmytroStebaiev changed calculations related to a node fee and staking rewards flow. Also fixed several small inaccuracies and prepared new beta version of fair-manager. Vadim @yavrsky participated in updating blockscout for FAIR Testnet and helped setting up the Legacy network for Portal 4.2. Eduardo @eduardo34203919 is working with fuzz testing tools on fair-manager smart-contract, worked in fixing small bugs found. Also investigated gas issues with alive() calls, and is working on improvements for gas efficiency and estimation of this call. Oleh @olehskl has fixed a number of stability / performance issues that were found during the FAIR testnet operation over the past 2 weeks. Ivan @Ivan3423145 fixed state root mismatch issue related to block rewards. Improved response time of eth_getLogs for request with large number of logs. He also supported testnet V2 validator onboarding. Sidnei @sidneitex updated consensus and skaled to use the updated libBLS. Sasha 1 @SemiDennisJJ, over the past two weeks, completed testing for the Testnet V2 that includes staking, block reward distribution, and passive and active node setup. Sasha 2, was preparing for and launched FAIR Testnet V2 and it's infrastructure. Karina @karina_yavorska together with Inรชs and Vadim, finished setting up the Legacy network for Portal 4.2 testing by deploying the needed contracts. She also reviewed upcoming features and test cases. The dev team has been working hard on FAIR, and the Infrastructure team is no exception ๐Ÿ˜… Hereโ€™s a closer look at what theyโ€™ve been working on over the past two weeks. @SkaleNetwork @SkaleDevelopers @FAIR_Blockchain Stan @Stan_Kladko completed edits for FAIR white paper and he prepared consensus performance improvements for testing. D3 @rikon_azane together with the smart contracts team, reviewed upcoming security improvements for the FAIR manager. He also enhanced the randomness mechanism for FAIR. Polina @PKiporenko conducted a development planning session for BITE Protocol Phase 2 together with Stan, Oleh, and D3, and compiled the execution plan, aligned timelines, and updated internal documentation. D1 @dmtkatwork added new staking commands to the node, unified services and containers naming convention in the SKALE/FAIR node, updated node components to support the lastest changes in the FAIR smart contracts. Alex @Alex_Sheverdin focused on enhancing the monitoring server for the FAIR testnet by implementing new features and configuring alerts integrated with PagerDuty. He also set up and configured the latest version of the ELK stack to collect and analyze logs from the FAIR testnet (he thanks @dmtkatwork for the initial draft setup). Inรชs @ines_skale_ with D1 and D3 help, has finished adding the USD value for SKALE tokens on the Staking and Validators page for Portal 4.2. Sheโ€™s also completed communication with our validators regarding the SGX Wallet update. D2 @DmytroStebaiev prepared the second beta version of FAIR-manager contracts containing security and performance fixes. Also, he has got everything ready to kick off security audit of the contracts. Vadim @yavrsky helped with testing and debugging staking functionality in FAIR-manager and fixed formula for calculation Block Rewards in Block Explorer. Eduardo @eduardo34203919 worked on FAIR-manager fixes and new functionality regarding the first audit of FAIR smart-contracts. Oleh @olehskl added optimizations to improve BITE transactions processing on consensus side. Ivan @Ivan3423145 supported FAIR testnet rollout and helping to fix ongoing validator issues. Improved performance of eth_getLogs request. Sidnei @sidneitex completed backend change to mcl for libBLS, and implemented several optimizations that together added to ~60x speedup for Threshold Encryption functions. Sasha 1 @SemiDennisJJ completed testing of Passive Historic and node, Reviewed the Block Reward functionality with activation and checked the FAIR distribution among the committee nodes. Sasha 2 was mostly working on maintaining mainnet and testnet infrastructure and helping QA team with setting up testing networks for further FAIR testing. Andrii @andriiliutak was working on Automation documentation, fixed smoke tests, and refactor qa-automation after moving from flake to ruff. Karina @karina_yavorska focused on staking tะตsting and improved automated tests by updating them to reflect recent changes. Manuel @ManelBarbasSKL developed an AMM demo to be deployed on FAIR. This AMM leverages the BITE protocol to safeguard user transactions against MEV attacks. D3 @rikon_azane prepared a launch plan for FAIR Testnet technical rollout. Polina @PKiporenko facilitated the preparation for the FAIR testnet technical spin-up and completed the roadmap for the upcoming BITE phases as well as the SKALE and FAIR roadmap. D1 @dmtkatwork fully restructured Node CLI both for SKALE and FAIR networks, updated monitoring agent (watchdog) to support FAIR, worked on adding support for the passive FAIR node in the admin component. Alex @Alex_Sheverdin developed a proxy server for the FAIR network and implemented the first version of the monitoring server for the FAIR testnet. Inรชs @ines_skale_ finished working on Portal 4.1.1. Meanwhile, she coordinated with our validators for the SGX Wallet update. D2 @DmytroStebaiev prepared and conducted a demo session of FAIR staking solution. Vadim @yavrsky fixed bugs and implemented new features in fair-manager and set up the block explorer for QA. Karina @karina_yavorska organized staking test cases and started automating them. Manel @ManelBarbasSKL worked with several SKALE dApps to help bring them live on SKALE Chains. D3 @rikon_azane this week together with Polina finalized the audit strategy for FAIR. Also adapted the bite.ts library for different setups and environments, and added support for Dencun opcodes in the FAIR build. Polina @PKiporenko coordinates FAIR development and architectural planning for upcoming features. She also worked on documentation and roadmap planning. D1 @dmtkatwork improved skaled handlers in fair-admin during the committee rotation, added a few features to the OpenFair dashboard, and implemented a better job scheduler for the node infrastructure. Alex @Alex_Sheverdin added more features to FAIR node provisioning, updated SKALE server monitoring and made several changes to the SKALE Cloud infrastructure. Inรชs @ines_skale_ continued working on Portal 4.1.1. In parallel, she coordinated with our validators and updated the spreadsheets for the SGX Wallet update and the validatorsโ€™ top-up. Karina @karina_yavorska focused on test automation for the Fair Manager and helped with testing committee rotation. Manel @ManelBarbasSKL worked on two different game demos. One shows the huge potencial of having a full on-chain game on SKALE chains and the other, on FAIR Testnet, uses BITE protocol to encrypt and encrypt the user guesses which are on-chain operations. On top of that he also worked on the new FAIR L1 Chain docs. Nata @NatashaSheverd1, in the last two weeks, streamlined DevSuccess processes through the use of an initiative tracker and actively supported projects developing on the SKALE testnet. She also captured key information about projects and created a summary document aimed at guiding strategic planning.

She collaborated with relevant teams to track progress, align timelines, and ensure everything was on track for a smooth rollout. D1 @dmtkatwork, implemented brand new architecture for FAIR skale-admin, including the migration procedure, config generation and skaled container management, worked with node infrastructure team to plan & implement FAIR migration in the node components. Alex @Alex_Sheverdin worked on measuring the performance of the new small type of SKALE chains. He also added basic FAIR support to SKALE node provisioning. Sasha 2, over the last two weeks, was working on setting up QA and developer networks for FAIR testing, and also he was preparing for later transfer of this networks to Hoodi testnet. Removed bottlenecks, gathered metrics, created the Performance reports. Andrรฉ finished work on integrating dynamic contract ABI fetching into Skale infrastructure components, with the help of D1. D2 refactored distributed key generation and completed work on initial implementation of committee rotation. Vadim upgraded block explorers for schains on testnet and mainnet. Eduardo spent the last couple of weeks working on developing a suitable workflow for migration of Testnet project instances. He's also been working with smart-contract development & upgrading libraries. Sasha 1, over past few weeks workedย  with Andrii on performance and stability testing for core and historical nodes. Also, finalized 4.0.0 release testing, that includes stability improvements and bug fixes๐Ÿ›. Sasha 2 over the past two weeks was working on devnet and mainnet, and also he helped with 4.0 Release testing. Vova worked on GitHub actions workflows to optimize the testing procedures. Happy New Year from the SKALE Dev Team! ๐ŸŽ‰ 2025 is going to be a great year with exciting plans ahead. Wishing everyone a successful and amazing year! โœจ Stay tuned for updates on what our dev team has been brewing up these past two weeks #NewYear2025 #SKALE Stan @Stan_Kladko prepared BITE protocol presentation for EuroBuidl 2025 as well as completed pull request for 4.0 performance improvements D3 @rikon_azane continued hiring new team members and helped with onboarding the latest additions. Collaborated with Ivan and Oleh to prepare the 3.1.1 version - everything is shaping up for the next big step. Polina @PKiporenko collaborated with the team to prepare and prioritize scope documents for the upcoming SKALE releases. D1 @dmtkatwork documented and implemented a brand new flexible proxy setup with a load balancer, reviewed multiple PRs for node infrastructure, and started working on Portal 4.0 release. Alex @Alex_Sheverdin made some significant improvements to the SKALE mainnet monitoring system and the SKALE incidents management process (including escalation policies, incident routing, notifications, etc.) to prevent potential issues, reduce downtime, and minimize the impact of incidents on the engineering team's productivity. Inรชs @ines_skale_ is jumping into 2025 with some exciting updates! ๐ŸŽ‰ She has started working more closely with our validators, with support from Polina, and Alex. On the SKALE Portal, she explored ideas for a fresh user interface for the Portfolio page, added new dApps, and began working on a React task prepared by D1. D2 @DmytroStebaiev continued working on execution layer in IMA. He Created mechanic of sending cross-chain payloads via low level calls to IMA. Also, D2 started adding ability to send tokens together with the payload and made small changes to token managers to support this functionality. Vadim @yavrsky expanded the functionality of the skale-contracts library by enabling the getInstance function to accept a set of contract addresses for creating contract instances. Oleh @olehsk updated leveldb version for consensus part that will improve the product's performance and stability. Ivan @instantfinality, during the past two weeks, have prepared 3.1.1 release candidates. Sasha 1 @SemiDennisJJ has completed work on containerizing load tests over the past two weeks. Additionally, he enjoys breaking things and does so pragmatically, which is why he prepared test artifacts for the 3.1.1 release. Sasha 2, for the last two weeks, has continued working on test automation of predeployed contracts and also started working on Release 3.1.1 testing. Manel @ManelBarbasSKL worked on improving the SKALE documentation with more clear information for developers on the tooling section as well as simplify the search flows. On top of that he worked with projects on the review process of dApps and their contracts Nata @NatashaSheverd1 as a part of the DevSuccess Team, worked closely with projects on the testnet, offering substantial support throughout the process. Currently, there are numerous exciting projects preparing for deployment and eagerly anticipating their move to the Mainnet. Additionally, several of our dApps are finalizing their go-live dates in coordination with our marketing team, and even more exciting events lined up for 2025!

This week, SKALE team had an incredible time at Web Summit event in Lisbon! ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿš€#websummit2024 Stay tuned for updates on what our dev team has been working on over the past two weeks. @SkaleNetwork @SkaleDevelopers Stan @Stan_Kladko completed SKALE 4.0 test suite. D3 @rikon_azane and Vadim @yavrsky have investigated and resolved issues with our mainnet smart contract upgrade tools, improving and streamlining our upgrade process. Polina @PKiporenko facilitated the approval of the scope for the next SKALE 4.0 Network Release, which will include significant performance improvements ๐Ÿš€ And she is exited to announce that the new version of Portal is live ๐ŸŽ‰ Inรชs created posts for Skale Devs' Twitter and worked closely with D1 @dmtkatwork and Polina @PKiporenko on the prototype for the validators' delegations pageโ€”a great team effort! Also, Inรชs wants to inform you that the new portal version is already live! ๐Ÿ”ฅ D1 @dmtkatwork fixed bugs found in Portal 3.1 pre-release build, updated proxy and metrics collector to enable historic dApp metrics across all networks, added new token mappings to the Bridge, and started working on the Validator management functionality. Ivan @Ivan3423145 prepared 3.1 release versions of the infrastructure components. He also completed major part of the next 3.1.1 release. Alex @Alex_Sheverdin set up a new SKALE ethereum nodes monitoring and almost finished implementing a backup script of main SKALE cloud servers. D2 @DmytroStebaiev as a part of Execution Layer development in IMA,ย  moved to a new solidity version, started using user defined types in this codebase, updated a couple of key libraries that we are using to be able to use newest features from them. Vadim @yavrsky prepared a PR in IMA to upgrade to the latest versions of Ethers and Upgrade Tools. Oleh @olehsk finalized development of the new historic state architecture that will bring more stability and features for our customers. Evgeniy @EugeneSkale over the past two weeks, worked on the finalization of 3.1 Release and added new tests. Not much time has passed since the last twitter update, but during this period, Sasha 1 @SemiDennisJJ completed the verification of the 3.1 release, including indexer and historic nodes. Now the main focus is on improving test coverage for Skaled as part of 4.0, because during the holidays, automated tests should be working, not QA. Sasha 2 in the past two weeks, completed 3.1 Release testing including new feature of different Schain Disk Allocation types and also he worked on improving our cloud infrastructure. Nastya @stuitsme completed regression testing for version 3.1 and made progress on automating the schain pricing testing, finalizing one additional segment. Nastya ensured that both tasks align with the projectโ€™s testing goals and quality benchmarks. Olha @Olhazherdzitska in the last two weeks, has been managing and kept our organizationโ€™s cloud infrastructure stable. Her tasks included improving cloud resources for better performance and scalability. She also updated the documentation and prepared for the upgrade to version 3.1. Manel @ManelBarbasSKL worked on SKALE documentation improvement as well as supported projects on the contracts and dApp review, providing feedback to help them deploy on SKALE testnets and mainnets. Currently, there are 30 dApps actively building on SKALE testnet. Nata @NatashaSheverd1 with DevSuccess team has been working hard to have all these projects successfully onboarded on the Mainnet within near weeks ๐Ÿ’ช

Also he designed new tests for 3.1 performance improvements. D3 @rikon_azane coordinated 3.0.1 release preparations & rollout. The new update brings enhanced compatibility with Ethereum! Also, together with @yavrsky finalized the last steps for our new blockexplorer 2.1.0. Polina @PKiporenko facilitated the finalization of Portal Release 3.0, which includes a new Ecosystem page, trending dApps, likes, and many cool features ๐Ÿš€portal.skale.space/ecosystem In the meantime, Polina worked on organizing several ongoing SKALE releases ๐Ÿ™Œ Inรชs @ines_skale_ over the past few weeks, made posts for the marketing team for Skale Devs' Twitter, helped with an internal presentation, and assisted D1 with the portal. This involved collecting metadata for apps and games and converting them into a new format. Additionally, she created screen recordings and screenshots of the latest portal version. D1 @dmtkatwork finished development of the SKALE Portal v3 release! He deployed 3 servers for collecting likes data, fixed bugs in sign-in with Ethereum flow, added ranking for dApps on SKALE, and updated the Home page. Ivan @Ivan3423145 completed flexible chain storage allocation, fixed ongoing minor bugs, and prepared release versions for 3.0.1. D2 @DmytroStebaiev completed preparing new versions of paymaster and skale-manager to support SKALE chain pricing v2 release. All new features are implemented and known issues are fixed. Vadim @yavrsky finalized versions for blockscout, blockscout-frontend, skale-explorer. Succesfully migrated block explorers to version 2.1.0 on QA network. Alex @Alex_Sheverdin has made significant changes in both SKALE Mainnet and Testnet ELK servers configuration and implemented swap memory limit monitoring of SKALE nodes. Oleh @olehsk completed the first draft the new rotating historic state - a lot of testing and code improvements ahead. D4 @skale_d4 cleaned some remaining debug information from skaled, prepared a test network for performance testing, fixed builds of some skaled-related side tools. Evgeniy @EugeneSkale has been working on finalization of testing of Portal version 3 and Skale version 3.0.1. The full IMA testing cycle is coming to an end. Sasha 1 @SemiDennisJJ has been working on improving and increasing test coverage, and has also completed work on stats metrics collection for load tests. Sasha 2 added several predeployed contracts to skale-contracts python package and started work on improving our performance testing infrustructure spinup scripts. Nastya @stuitsme completed Portal V3 testing, covering new key functionalities with all critical issues resolved. Nastya also has started Schain Pricing testing, focusing on bug fixing and new upgrade procedures. Manel @ManelBarbasSKL collaborated with 23 projects and partners on their SKALE Testnet and Mainnet deployments. The support encompassed contract reviews, solutions architecture for smart contracts and user experience, as well as codebase evaluations. Olha @Olhazherdzitska has been responsible for managing and maintaining the stable operation of our organization's cloud infrastructure. Her duties included optimizing cloud resources to improve system performance and scalability. Additionally, Olha has been updating the relevant documentation. Nata @NatashaSheverd1 started transitioning to the DevSuccess department to provide even better support and coordination of existing and prospective projects on SKALE.
