A different way to look at the future. In “A Case for Hope,” Tallulah La Merle invited everyone to see AI not just as a disruptive force, but as a transformative evolution. Human intelligence extends beyond the brain, into ecological, somatic, and communal ways of knowing. She also suggested that AI can help amplify these qualities rather than replace them. While many fear losing what is good in the present, builders and entrepreneurs look at today’s problems and imagine what could exist next. Entire industries are still waiting to be built. #DeveloperCampMNL #DeveloperCamp #Hackathon #ManilaTech

What makes technology truly valuable? A conversation with Anna Spisak reflects on one of the central themes of this year’s camp: relational technology. As technology itself becomes more accessible, the real differentiator shifts to something deeper — human relationships. How we connect, collaborate, communicate, and move through the world together. The question for builders then becomes: what are our technologies amplifying? #DeveloperCampMNL #DeveloperCamp #Hackathon #ManilaTech

New technologies open new possibilities. A session on blockchain with Kat Gonzalez and Atty. Nathan Marasigan explored emerging use cases for cryptocurrency and the growing institutional openness to blockchain. From discussions around governance to tools that can help address real problems like corruption, the message to builders was clear: Now is the best time to build. Don’t be afraid to experiment. #DeveloperCampMNL #DeveloperCamp #Hackathon #ManilaTech

In celebration of International Women’s Month, Developer Camp Manila hosted a Women’s Leadership Panel with mentors Nana Luz, Giselle Tomimbang-Mercado, Victoria Herrera, Dona Esteban, and Elyse Lefebvre, moderated by Paula Rosales. The conversation moved through career origin stories across tech, PR and events, health and wellness, and entrepreneurship. One theme stood out: communication remains the most important skill — especially in the age of AI, where builders are asked not just to use tools, but to think critically, solve problems, and understand the communities they’re building for. A reminder shared with the room: step into spaces you feel you don’t belong in, with curiosity. #DeveloperCampMNL #DeveloperCamp #Hackathon #ManilaTech

The future of creative work is being rewritten. A panel on AI Ethics & the Future of Creative Work brought together Quark Henares, Nic Reyes Indiego, Terence Ver S. Angsioco, Desiree Llanos Dee, and Nityalila Saylo, moderated by Giselle Tomimbang-Mercado. The conversation explored how AI is changing creative work, from new possibilities to the risk of losing human connection. While AI can process data, meaning and presence still come from people. A reminder for builders: design tools that leave space for mindfulness, joy, connection, and critical thinking. #DeveloperCampMNL #DeveloperCamp #Hackathon #ManilaTech

Sometimes teams form in unexpected ways. We talked with Neil Casas, a student-builder from UST. Neil arrived at Developer Camp Manila on his own, but quickly connected with other builders he met during the event. Those conversations turned into a team. Together, they’re building a project that looks at the workflows of surgeons, where much of the process is often filled with administrative or repetitive tasks. Their idea focuses on automating this filler work and providing better context to help surgeons focus on what matters most during procedures. Sometimes all it takes is showing up to find the people you’ll build with. #DeveloperCampMNL #DeveloperCamp #Hackathon #ManilaTech

One piece of advice for the builders in the room. A quick conversation with Paula Rosales — professional kitesurfer, event organizer, Developer Camp board member, and one of the producers behind this year’s event. When asked what advice she would give to builders here today, her answer was simple: Have grit. Have audacity. Sometimes, that’s where building begins. #DeveloperCampMNL #DeveloperCamp #Hackathon #ManilaTech
