The #DigitalRegulation Network continues to advance as a true network of networks, connecting regulators across national, regional and global levels.
Its work is anchored in three key pillars:
▪️Capacity development
▪️Thought leadership
▪️Regulatory innovation
Together, these pillars help regulators strengthen cooperation, support experimentation, and respond to emerging technologies with practical, measurable impact. #ITUGSR
It was a pleasure to ignite discussions on how regulation could keep pace with fast-changing digital ecosystems at the joint meeting of the Regional Regulatory Associations (RA) and the #DigitalRegulation Network (DRN). RAs bring regional perspectives into global regulatory conversations and help translate shared principles into practical, regionally relevant solutions.
Through the DRN, this cooperation can support investment, bring trust, and deliver meaningful connectivity. My thanks to Marko Mišmaš for chairing today’s meeting. #ITUGSR@BERECeuropaeu@regulator_akos

The government has proposed changes to the IT Rules, 2021, which could bring influencers and everyday users sharing news content under the same rules as news publishers. This means authorities may be able to remove or block such content if needed.
The draft also gives more power to the Information and Broadcasting Ministry and requires social media platforms to follow government advisories or face legal action. Officials say the move aims to address unregulated content and the rise of deepfakes. Public feedback is open until April 14.
