Trying to work out how to stay current with AI developments without letting them completely derail actual project work. Some days I'm spending more time clicking links to the latest tool than actually doing billable things that move client work forward.
The noise is real. Every few hours there's a new model, a new feature, a new framework that might be important or might be another podcast rabbit hole. The challenge isn't learning what's useful. It's resisting the urgency of everything new to focus on what's actually working right now.
I think the answer is brutally practical: if an AI tool or workflow isn't directly paying for itself in your current projects, it's information noise, not innovation. Save the exploration for the margins. The work comes first.
