Today’s
#GenZ talent is undeniably strong in technical skills. They are well-versed in AI, ML, and Deep Learning, and can confidently handle complex technical questions in interviews.
However, there is a noticeable gap when it comes to applying this knowledge in real-world scenarios. I recently interviewed candidates from
#San Jose,
#Bangalore, and
#Warsaw. While many demonstrated excellent command over technical concepts, they struggled when asked to design even a basic use case, such as a simple point-of-sale system.
The challenge is not capability, but domain understanding.
Bookish learning is important and forms a necessary foundation. But in today’s AI-driven landscape, companies are no longer looking to hire pure technologists and then pair them with domain experts. The shift is happening in the opposite direction.
#Domainexperts are now leveraging AI tools to write code, build solutions, and collaborate directly with developers, testers, and the broader ecosystem.
The future belongs to those who can combine technical depth with real-world context.
