🚨🚨🚨 The EFF in Tshwane has championed the formalization of shifts and allowances for Asset Protection (Security Guards). It is the EFF that restores dignity, it is the EFF that fights exploitation. #EFFWorks
We are debating this report today because Asset Protection Officers refused to accept exploitation disguised as administration. This is not just Asset Protection it is about insourcing, dignity, and workers’ rights in the City of Tshwane.

We did our annual routine check at Tshegofatsong Special School in Mamelodi that caters for learners with special needs and severe intellectual disability. Was very happy to be told that our continuous request to have the school skills centers expanded was granted by the department. Two new skills centers at the school! ♥️ so proud of the work of the teachers and the leadership of the Principal. We are so blessed to form part of this community. Side note to fellow mammas and papas of children with special needs; it gets better with time, effort and support. Some of our babies go on to be independent and serve the community in various ways. One of our alumni in this school is a manager at a big retail store in Silverlakes. Our advocacy for more special needs school, dating back to 2018 continues (got so rough that the then MEC of education in Gauteng, Panyaza blocked me on twitter cos I would hackle him every chance I got 😂♥️). No child should be at home because they have a disability. The department should really prioritise the waiting lists our children are subjected to. It is an injustice. If this is your reality please reach out so we ensure all our babies get an opportunity to access quality education. #NgwanaSkolong #UmntanaEskolweni

♦️Laanghoven High School ♦️ We conduct our back to school program at Langhoven school in Region 3. The school has approximately 1600 total population with 99% African learners. The oversight visit revealed that high levels of crime, involving snatching of cellphones and other valuable items of learners is taking place around the school. The school is located in a high accident zone caused by high speed taxis and motorists. While the school has proper infrastructure and operations, illegal dumping of garden waste inside the school was identified. Various intervention measures including installation of speed humps, certification of premises, launching of stop-littering programs and setting up of Road-safety barricades will be considered. Resumption of learning is well underway despite, prolong placement of learners due to poor facilitation by the district office. #EFFinGovernment

♦️Mogale Primary School Program♦️ The MMC for Environment and Agriculture Management visited Mogale Primary School as part of back-to-school campaign. The school has a population of approximately 980 learners, far beyond its intended capacity. This severe overcrowding has resulted in a shortage of furniture, with some learners forced to stand while learning. Classrooms that were designed to accommodate 45 learners now end up hosting nearly 72 learners. The situation is further worsened by shortages in human resources and inadequate municipal services, including the absence of weekly waste collection. The school highlighted the launch of indigenous games and sports, development of proper sports facilities as issues of urgent request required by the school. Education must be dignified, equal, and adequately resourced. In this context, all issues of immediate concern within the a bit of the municipality, raised by the school management and community leaders will be attended to as matter of urgency. #EFFInGovernment
