Indian entertainment industry is proving that compassion and creativity can go hand in hand. As highlighted in this international feature, leading film, series producers, and advertisement makers are supporting PETA India’s call to end the use of real elephants in their works and embrace humane alternatives such as CGI, animatronics, and mechanical elephants. These technologies allow filmmakers to tell powerful stories without subjecting intelligent, sensitive animals to a lifetime of captivity and suffering. With more than two dozen celebrities backing the campaign, the message is clear: great cinema does not require animal exploitation. PETA India is grateful to every, content creator and production house for choosing innovation over cruelty and helping build a future where elephants can thrive in their natural habitats, not on film sets. @aawsat_eng @petermartell @Ramrajofficial @TheJohnAbraham @RichaChadha @PoojaB1972 @TheFarahKhan @deespeak #ElephantProtection #EthicalEntertainment #AnimalWelfare #Innovation #PETAIndia #WildlifeProtection Via: english.aawsat.com/varieties…

💔 A deeply heartbreaking scene from the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary… In the Mugguru range near Kanakapura, a 40-year-old mother elephant died after drinking heavily polluted water from the Arkavati River. Her grieving calf was seen standing beside the body, placing its trunk on her and mourning inconsolably for hours. Post-mortem report: Approximately 35 litres of contaminated water mixed with toxic substances were found in the elephant’s stomach. The Arkavati River, a key tributary of the Cauvery, has faced severe pollution in recent years. According to Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) data under the National Water Monitoring Programme, microbial pollution (coliform bacteria) in stretches near Kanakapura has reached nearly 350 times the safe limit. Primary causes include: • Untreated industrial effluents discharged from factories and industrial areas. • Untreated domestic sewage from rapid urbanization on Bengaluru’s outskirts. • Agricultural runoff containing pesticides and fertilizers. • Loss of natural wetlands and buffers due to development and quarrying. This forest and river ecosystem is the natural home of wild animals elephants, tigers, birds, and many other species that have lived here for generations. Human activities and environmental pressures are increasingly impacting their habitat. The Karnataka Forest Department, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, and the State Government have an important responsibility to address river pollution through stricter enforcement, mandatory sewage and effluent treatment, wetland restoration, and stronger ecosystem protection. Urgent and effective action is needed to prevent future tragedies. A touching update: A herd of wild elephants later adopted the orphaned calf and took it with them. We must work together to protect our rivers, forests, and wildlife. #SaveWildlife #ArkavathiPollution #CauveryWildlife #ElephantProtection #StopRiverPollution #EnvironmentalConservation

Drone surveillance is strengthening elephant tracking in Bargarh Forest Division, enabling forest teams to monitor herd movement across forest and fringe areas with greater accuracy. The technology supports real-time observation, improves early warning for nearby villages, and helps staff respond quickly to potential human–elephant conflict. By combining traditional field knowledge with modern aerial monitoring, the Forest Department is enhancing protection for both wildlife and local communities while promoting safer coexistence across the landscape. #elephanttracking #dronesforwildlife #wildlifeconservation #humanelephantconflict #odishaforests #forestdepartment #elephantprotection

India has achieved a major success in wildlife protection as AI-based monitoring systems on railway tracks have helped prevent elephant deaths for the past two years. The smart system uses cameras and sensors to detect elephants near tracks and sends real-time alerts to train drivers, allowing them to slow down or stop in time. This technology has been especially useful in forest zones where elephants often cross railway lines, reducing deadly accidents that were once common. Officials say the system is proving that artificial intelligence can play a powerful role in saving animal lives and protecting India’s rich wildlife. #AISavesLives #ElephantProtection #IndianRailways #WildlifeSafety #Punetimesmirror

This is heartbreaking #Elephant #elephantprotection #AnimalCruelty #animalsanctuary #animalsafety #JharkhandNews can’t wait for our #securityforces to take out every #Maoists from this region and the Country.
Replying to @sanjoychakra
According to an estimate, around 60-65 Maoists are supposed to be hiding in the Saranda jungles, Jharkhand where they have planted thousands of IEDs( improvised explosive device), which has become a challenge for the security forces. The elephant, which got injured in an IED blast in the Saranda jungles of Chaibasa on October 6, finally succumbed to its injuries early in the morning on Sunday. This is the fourth elephant that died in an IED blast in Saranda within the last three months; three of them died during treatment, while another one was found dead in the jungles. The IEDs planted by Maoists in the Saranda jungles are not a challenge only for the security forces, but it has also become a potential threat to the wild animals. From The New Indian Express
