Wanted to frame a view of the large rear cedar, through the main central volume of the house. Took a bit of work to get the finishes and windows etc to line up when the big slider was opened.

Step 5 is similar to #Passivhaus and is the highest rating in BC's @energystepcode.

HRVs are not a requirement in BC’s Code, but ventilation is, and especially in residential units in @energystepcode buildings, it must be provided directly to the unit.

@BenWest Hi there, good question. This will depend on a number of factors, but if you're making the switch, you could see an increase in your electricity costs. However, we're currently exploring new rate designs to support our customers and electrification.

While HAVAN supports the Step Code, the intent was to see municipalities gradually adopt the 5 steps over 15 years to allow time to adjust. Advancing that timeline by a decade brings on challenges.
