One cannot help but chuckle, dear friends, at the curious modern notion that England’s green and pleasant land belongs equally to all the world’s wanderers.
We English, descendants of those stout souls who tilled these fields under Alfred’s banner, raised the spires of our cathedrals, and penned the immortal lines of Shakespeare, are no mere footnote in our own story.
This sceptred isle remains the native home of the English people—our ethnicity, our customs, our very blood woven into hedge and hamlet. To suggest otherwise is rather like claiming the oak belongs to the ivy.

St. George rode forth, valiant and bold.
A dragon fierce, with fiery breath,
Threatened the kingdom with fear and death.
With lance in hand, armour shining head to toe,
He faced the beast, a most terrifying foe.
Neither fear nor doubt could diminish his soul,
For to serve and liberate was his noble goal.
The dragon roared with rage and ire,
But St. George pressed on, his spirit afire.
With a mighty blow, he struck the beast.
Killing it, he heralding a celebration feast.
In our lives, we face our dragons too,
Fear, doubt, and anxiety can pursue.
We wield our own sword of courage and hope,
Vanquishing our demons; victory within our scope.
Let us march forth with confidence high,
Then our monsters we can defy.
For though to sainthood we may not aspire,
We can slay our doubt and achieve our heart’s desire.

Today, I’m proud.
Proud to be an English woman.
Proud to live in this incredible country.
Proud of our history, our values, and yes
proud of our flag.
And the truth is…
👉 I’m proud to be English every single day — not just today.
Proud of my country in my everyday life, not just on one day of the year.
Every year, we see the world celebrate St Andrew’s Day, St David’s Day, and especially St Patrick’s Day and rightly so. The celebrations are joyful, passionate, and embraced across the globe.
I love that.
But it does make me ask…
👉 Why is it sometimes different when it comes to St George’s Day?
👉 Why should there be any discomfort in celebrating being proudly English?
Being proud of where you come from shouldn’t come with hesitation.
It shouldn’t be something you feel the need to tone down or apologise
It’s about identity.
It’s about heritage.
It’s about community.
So today and every day I’ll say it proudly:
I’m proud to be English.
Family. Community. Country. ❤️🤍

My daughter is at a CoE school. We no longer have nativity as not to upset any other religion. In year three I was told they were going on a trip to the local mosque. I refused for her to go, took her to Windsor Castle instead. #sorrynotsorry #Englishpride #leaveourkidsalone
