🔥 A group of civil society organisations calls on the next @EU_Commission to preserve the Open Internet! In an open letter addressed to Commissioner-designate for Tech Sovereignty, Security and Democracy @HennaVirkkunen ahead of her 12 November confirmation hearing at the European Parliament. ⚠️ The signatories express their concerns with ongoing efforts to undermine critical principles of net neutrality and to request that the European Commission refrain from intervening in the commercial dynamics of the Internet’s interconnection ecosystem. 🗣️ The group “strongly oppose[s] these proposals that [they] believe are not only unnecessary, but also extremely harmful to the global Internet and its users,” emphasising that “only the largest operators supported this type of regulatory intervention.” 📣 They recall that European stakeholders have already spoken during the recent consultation efforts: “it is time for Europe to use its global leadership to promote an open Internet for everyone.” 🔗 internetsociety.org/open-let…  🖊️ The signatories: 🔸 @internetsociety 🔸 @epicenter_works 🔸 @ApTI_ro 🔸 @CENTRnews 🔸 Chaos Computer Club e.V.
