The velocity of the exercise influences Exercise Order The general rule is: Perform the FASTER exercises first – or at least those you intend to execute fast – using CAT (Compensatory Acceleration Training). WHY? If you perform them when already fatigued, the training effect on SPEED-STRENGTH drops dramatically. This is especially true for plyometrics, where the transition phase must be extremely short (below 0.2 seconds). A RULE ABOUT BREAKING THE RULES legitimately... ...applies not only in politics 😁😉 Sometimes the order should be reversed. Bulgarian weightlifting coaches used to do heavy squats *before* the Olympic lifts. The heavy squats “woke up” the high threshold motor units and allowed the lifters to generate more power during the snatch and clean & jerk. Before you completely ignore "today's principle" from the PICP Level 2 textbook... There is a KEY to break this rule: the volume of heavy squats must be kept low – otherwise you’ll be too fatigued when you get to the technical superfast lifts.
