America, NOT California bureaucrats or Communist China, should set the rules for the future of AI.
1. AI is a national security issue, not a state issue.
Failing to unify our framework and ending up with a patchwork of state laws slows our own innovation and gives China an advantage.
2. Progressive states should not determine AI law for the whole country.
If Congress fails to act, blue states like California, New York, and Illinois will set the rules for AI development nationwide through DEI mandates, bias audits, and disparate-impact requirements.
3. America First AI Framework
A national AI framework should protect children, require age safeguards, defend free speech, preserve creators' rights, block European-style censorship, prevent AI-enabled genetic manipulation, and ensure America sets the rules for the future. Not California bureaucrats or Communist China.
The Trump administration’s 2026 National AI Policy Framework offers the clear, decisive federal leadership required. Congress should act swiftly to codify this framework before the risky patchwork of conflicting state laws becomes permanent.
Either America leads AI under a unified national framework, or China and progressive state governments will shape the future instead.
