I usually have around 150-200 cattle on similar clover grasses this time of year and honestly I’ve never experienced any bad cases of bloating. I’d never send empty bellied cattle into this amount of clover and mostly I’d graze extreme dairy types, Holsteiny steers in this case.

Personally I’d go in when 30% is in flower, good quality high sugar is at it’s highest, the red clover in the video is slightly past it’s best. 👍🏼

I’ve grown both together as a silage crop, works well as a big bale option for boosting protein in tmr, also I’ve clamped it but threw my protein intake all over the shop! I usually run the combine through the barley/pea there’s something enjoyable about seeing peas in the tank!!

Peas almost there, #RedClover and white Clover lays absolutely flying in the last 2-3 weeks. High protein silage = high Nitrogen Manure. Grow it, feed it, muck it out then spread it, and repeat! #Farming @BritishGrass @FieldOptions
