This first episode of the documentary series TRADITIO – For the Love of the Church is dedicated to the Catholic priesthood, the history of the FSSPX, and priestly formation in its international seminaries.
Produced over two years by two young students from Switzerland and Germany in collaboration with the General House of the FSSPX, this production of more than four hours is one of the most ambitious cinematic projects ever undertaken by the Fraternity.

Een korte update over Delirium AI: de verfilming van mijn tweede roman over twee kunstenaars op de vlucht voor zichzelf tijdens de heftige omwentelingen van 't nieuwe millennium.
In 2025 kondigde ik bij onder meer Forum Inside van @thierrybaudet aan dat Delirium als AI-filmproject zou worden ontwikkeld door Lucid Dream. Inmiddels hebben we besloten de preproductie over deze zomer heen te tillen.
De reden is eenvoudig: generatieve AI ontwikkelt zich momenteel met zo'n duizelingwekkende snelheid dat het nu zonde is om er nu al 100% in te springen. Op het World AI Film Festival in Cannes stelde artistiek directeur Julien Raout het deze week zo: “Last year’s best films wouldn’t make the official selection this year.” (Wat in 2025 nog grensverleggend leek, oogt nu al zichtbaar verouderd.)
Tijdens het Cannes-filmfestival dat nu plaatsvindt wijzen filmmakers als Mathieu Kassovitz erop dat AI productiekosten inmiddels drastisch verlaagt en tegelijkertijd nieuwe creatieve mogelijkheden opent. De technologie beweegt momenteel sneller dan vrijwel alle traditionele filmproducties kunnen bijhouden.
Voor Delirium AI betekent dat één ding: timing is cruciaal. Een project dat we vandaag afronden, zal volgend jaar aanvoelen alsof het uit de prehistorie komt. Een project dat later dit jaar wordt gestart, o.a. met de upgrades van VEO 4, Seedance 2.0 & Grok Imagine, kan eind dit jaar zowel artistiek en cinematografisch een niveau bereiken dat vandaag nog nauwelijks mogelijk is.
Dat betekent overigens niet dat het project stil ligt. We werken momenteel met man en macht aan het filmscenario. Eind augustus starten de eerste castings. Delirium AI wordt nadrukkelijk een hybride productie, waarin generatieve AI wordt gecombineerd met menselijke acteurs, performance capture en klassieke filmregie.
Voor 2030 zal generatieve AI en integraal onderdeel zijn van vrijwel iedere filmproductie. Tot die tijd ligt mijn focus daarnaast ook op mijn derde roman en mijn werk als cultuur- & technologiejournalist voor @deanderekrant Hierdoor zal ik op X veel minder vaak aanwezig zijn.
