Dang. Why didn’t they just cast this guy as the Mandalorian. It’s not like ‘Pedro Pascal’ was some kind of big star when that show started.
I even remember thinking ‘oh he’s a slimy nobody, that’s interesting I guess?’ during the first face-reveal episode. Then within like a few months suddenly Pedro Pascal was being put in literally every blockbuster franchise.
Who even decided that? It’s so weird! Is there anyone, from any walk of life, who even likes Pedro Pascal as an actor & actively wants to see him in stuff? ‘It it’s got Pedro Pascal? I want to buy a ticket now’

They don’t have to reboot it, they just need to go in another direction. The Mandalorian was doing that before the disastrous 3rd season and flop ill advised projects in between (except the brilliant Andor).
I think Filoni knows what is wrong and finally has a free hand to do things, but I am not sure he can do it by himself or with anyone currently at the studio.

Maybe so. There's heavy pressure to deliver. Starfighter needs to be great not just good. Only then is faith restored. Only then does it have crossover appeal. Restoring the core fully is a reboot of the sequel trilogy and I seriously doubt Filoni is willing to do that.

Filoni was never good. He backstabbed George at every opportunity and in general is just terrible at storytelling.

Starfighter will NEED to be a success, cause if not then Dave Filoni and Lucasfilm has a serious problem.
The Mando and Grogu movie should not have been released in theaters. It was literally a 2hr TV special put on the big screen. Filoni should have done a S4 instead.

but someone was supposed to making a rey movie and that just disappeared
what's his face, an actual director, and one of the hottest actors on the planet came in with a full movie ready to go, the hunt for kylo ren, and they passed on that
so who knows what they're doing
oh and if i recall, filoni is supposedy gonna do a follow up to mando and grogu that's going to be their "avengers" it's going to bring together all the TV shows and ahksoka, mando etc and the big bad is going to be thrawn
so of all of that, the only thing we know for sure because it's actually in front of cameras is starfighter (which is rumored to lead in to ep 10 because the rumor is the kid is a little jedi and ryan is trying to get him to Rey)

Both sides of this discussion misunderstand much. Filoni fan-types like Andor, we just don’t want it to be an excuse to take all the Jedi and aliens out of the franchise, find it annoying that Andor fans use Andor to shit on fantastical aspects of Star Wars
