ALERT: Construction worker was left hanging off the side of a building before he fell to the ground after the scaffolding collapsed.
A building in downtown Madison, Wisconsin, is under construction, and as the crew tried to move the scaffolding, it tipped over along with the telehandler, a lifting machine, beneath it.
One worker was on the scaffolding and hung onto the side of the building as long as he could before eventually falling.
Authorities say he was rushed to the hospital and sustained minor injuries.
Madison Fire Department said the equipment was in the street, and they worked to clean up the scaffolding and the fuel leaking into the street from the telehandler.
The construction company, Findorff, released a statement saying, “The health and safety of everyone on our job sites is our highest priority, and we are working closely with local authorities and safety officials to determine the cause of the incident.”
