Dear Covie,
Your comment reveals exactly why the left constantly plays the victim card while ignoring objective reality. You're "grateful" for double standards? How progressive of you.
Let me educate you on the actual crime statistics in DC, since your narrative seems divorced from facts. If DC were a state, it would have the highest violent crime rate in the nation - 1.5 times higher than NYC's rate. DC's homicide rate is 6.5 times higher than New York City's, and DC recently ranked as the city with the highest vehicle theft rate in the entire United States. Carjacking rates are 3-5 times higher than NYC, with DC experiencing a 71.6% increase in robberies in 2023 alone.¹
So when you claim this administration would "label Black protests as riots," you're ignoring that DC actually has an astronomical crime rate that would make it the worst in America if it were a state. The "agenda that crime is out of control in DC" isn't an agenda - it's mathematical reality supported by FBI statistics.
But here's what's really fascinating about your logic: you're essentially arguing that law enforcement should apply different standards based on race. You want elderly white protesters arrested for the same actions that you believe Black protesters should be immune from. That's not equality - that's demanding special treatment based on skin color, which is literally the definition of racial discrimination.
Perhaps instead of celebrating double standards, you could focus on the fact that constitutional rights apply equally to all Americans regardless of race. The First Amendment doesn't have a racial exemption clause, and neither should law enforcement.
Your victimhood mentality ignores that peaceful protest is protected for everyone, while rioting and violence are crimes regardless of who commits them. Equal justice under law - what a radical concept!
