As someone who studied in a General/Technical school, I noticed a huge difference
During English classes, many Francophone students were always excited to learn. Most of their English teachers were women too (for reasons we all know 🤭😂). They would even bring their assignments to us in the English section for help. I remember I had a friend we did trade by barter… “I teach you English & you teach me French”
But during French hours, a lot of my Anglophone brothers and sisters from the NW and SW would skip class or completely lose interest.
That’s why I keep saying bilingualism in Cameroon is not only a government issue… sometimes it’s also an attitude and effort issue.
