Fresh Attack Reported in Lasan-Langka Area Lasan, Tamenglong District, June 13: A fresh attack was reported in the Lasan-Langka Kuki-inhabited area this morning at around 8:40 AM. According to local sources, armed cadres of the NSCN-IM, in collaboration with the ZUF(K), carried out a coordinated assault in the area. The incident comes just three days after the killing of Pu Haogin of Lasan Village, which local residents have also attributed to the same groups. Sources further stated that, weeks earlier, the Deputy Chief Minister of Manipur had overseen the deployment of additional security personnel in several vulnerable Naga villages in the region. However, Kuki civil society organizations have alleged that repeated appeals for similar security deployment in Kuki villages were not acted upon. Lasan Village is located near Tamei headquarters, an area where the Tangkhul-led NSCN-IM is reported to maintain a significant presence. Local organizations claim that repeated attacks targeting Kuki villages in the region have resulted in the deaths of 13 Kuki civilians since February this year.
